Inglaterra<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La publicaci\u00f3n del vig\u00e9simo \u00e1lbum de estudio de los Stones (#22 en el mercado norteamericano) vino precedido por un periodo en el que cada miembro lanz\u00f3 material solista, convirti\u00e9ndose en el silencio discogr\u00e1fico m\u00e1s extenso de su prol\u00edfica carrera.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-g-rec td-g-rec-id-content_inline td_uid_2_64ad3fee96bd8_rand td_block_template_1\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"aswift_3_host\" tabindex=\"0\" title=\"Advertisement\" aria-label=\"Advertisement\"><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>El disco anterior,\u00a0<strong><em>Steel Wheels<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(1989) hab\u00eda significado el regreso a los escenarios, tras siete a\u00f1os de inexplicable ausencia producto de cierta tensi\u00f3n interna. Ni\u00a0<strong><em>Undercover\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>(1984) ni\u00a0<strong><em>Dirty Works<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(1986) contaron con giras de apoyo.<\/p>\n<p>El tour que sucedi\u00f3 a\u00a0<strong><em>Steel Wheels<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0-el m\u00e1s grande hasta entonces- arroj\u00f3 el documento en directo\u00a0<strong><em>Flashpoint<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(1991) y signific\u00f3 el final para el bajista\u00a0<strong>Bill Wyman<\/strong>, quien ten\u00eda cierto tiempo meditando su salida del grupo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keith Richards<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Mick Jagger<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Ronnie Wood<\/strong>\u00a0y\u00a0<strong>Charlie Watts\u00a0<\/strong>decidieron seguir como cuartero, contratando como bajista a\u00a0<strong>Darryl Jones<\/strong>, a sugerencia de Watts, una relaci\u00f3n que ya se extiende por 25 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>Bajo la producci\u00f3n compartida de\u00a0<strong>Don Was<\/strong>\u00a0y\u00a0<strong>The Glimmer Twins<\/strong>\u00a0(Jagger y Richards), el disco comenz\u00f3 a grabarse con el ingeniero\u00a0<strong>Don Smith<\/strong>\u00a0en septiembre de 1993 en el estudio casero de\u00a0<strong>Ronnie Wood<\/strong>\u00a0y en los famosos Windmill Studios de Dublin, Irlanda, para luego ser mezclado por\u00a0<strong>Bob Clearmountain<\/strong>\u00a0en A&amp;M Studios de Los Angeles y Right Track Recording en Nueva York, proceso que termin\u00f3 en abril de 1994.<\/p>\n<p>Aunque siempre ha sido reconocido como un disco en el que los Stones regresaron a su sonido b\u00e1sico rockero \u2013prescindiendo casi completamente de los coqueteos con el funk, el reggae, el soul y los sonidos ex\u00f3ticos, pero sobre todo del blues- lo cierto es que\u00a0<strong><em>Voodoo Lounge<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0contiene un generoso pu\u00f1ado de 15 excelentes canciones.<\/p>\n<p>En plena era del reinado del formato CD, y luego de cinco a\u00f1os sin nuevo material (el per\u00edodo m\u00e1s extenso hasta ese momento), 62 minutos de m\u00fasica parec\u00eda una decisi\u00f3n l\u00f3gica.<\/p>\n<p>Tres aldabonazos rockeros abren el disco: \u201c<strong>Love is Strong<\/strong>\u201d, \u201c<strong>You Got Me Rocking<\/strong>\u201d y \u201c<strong>Sparks Will Fly<\/strong>\u201d, el primero de los cuales fue escogido como el primer single. \u00a0Representan el sonido Stone en estado puro, con cercan\u00eda los temas fren\u00e9ticos de\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/revistaladosis.com\/the-rolling-stones-exile-on-main-street\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><em>Exile on Main Street<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(1972) como \u201c<strong>Rocks Off<\/strong>\u201d o \u201c<strong>Respectable<\/strong>\u201d de\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/revistaladosis.com\/the-rolling-stones-some-girls\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><em>Some Girls<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(1971).<\/p>\n<p><iframe por Wood y el fiddle (viol\u00edn irland\u00e9s) por\u00a0<strong>Frankie Gavin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>La maravillosa \u201c<strong>New Faces<\/strong>\u201d, con el clavec\u00edn tocado por\u00a0<strong>Chuck Leavell<\/strong>\u00a0y las guitarras ac\u00fasticas sonando como un dulcimer, es lo m\u00e1s cercano a los tiempos de \u201c<strong>Lady Jane<\/strong>\u201d, \u201c<strong>Playing with Fire<\/strong>\u201d y \u201c<strong>I\u2019 Waiting<\/strong>\u201d, un homenaje a los aportes de\u00a0<strong>Brian Jones<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" Tears<\/strong>\u201d, dominada por el piano de Leavell y el \u00f3rgano de\u00a0<strong>Bemmont Tench<\/strong>\u00a0(de Tom Petty &amp; The Heartbrekers) y la sentida interpretaci\u00f3n de Jagger que podr\u00eda haber sido parte de\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/revistaladosis.com\/the-rolling-stones-goats-head-soup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><em>Goats Head Soup<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(1973),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/revistaladosis.com\/the-rolling-stones-its-only-rock-and-roll\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><em>It\u2019s Only Rock and Roll<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>(1974) o incluso\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/revistaladosis.com\/the-rolling-stones-some-girls\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><em>Some Girls<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(1978). Vuelve el rock a media velocidad con \u201c<strong>Baby Break it Down<\/strong>\u201d, de nuevo con el pedal steel de Wood y los coros de\u00a0<strong>Ivan Neville<\/strong>\u00a0y\u00a0<strong>Bernard Fowler<\/strong>.
